Printmakers based at Oxford University's Wytham Woods: Linocut & Letterpress Cards,  Posters and Prints

Robin and Rosie set up the Wytham Studio in 2012 in the heart of the University of Oxford's research woodlands. We are tutors in printmaking at the Bodleian Library Bibliographic Press and Rosie is also an art teacher in Oxford, while Robin is an Anthropologist of the University of Oxford studying craft, creativity and art using the learning-by-doing participatory observation research method. You can follow our work in Instagram: @theWythamStudio and you can find the Japanese Woodfired Ceramics Project that Robin runs @OxfordUniversityKilns.

Our own practice is a mixture of text and images created using moveable wood and lead letterpress type or carved with gouges into Lino or wooden blocks, then printed out on one of our various presses. At the studio in the Woods where we often teach courses, we have an Albion Press dating from the 1850s. At our workshop in the centre of Oxford we have Vandercook and Heidelberg presses of various types and sizes.Rosie is a writer, Robin is an academic. The work we put together as The Wytham Studio is were we overlap. In more normal times, you can often see us at work at the studio in the Woods, or book courses with us either at the Bodleian Library or at Wytham.
